De Bondt is 2009 best italian chocolate maker


After fifteen years of successful business 2009 is full of awards too for de Bondt, the tuscan hand-crafted chocolate company founded by Paul De Bondt and Cecilia Iacobelli, who were recently chosen as "best chocolate makers" by "Compagnia del Cioccolato", and were awarded other two "Golden Chocolate bar" (Tavoletta d’oro) prizes and two bronze medals by british "Academy of Chocolate".

"Compagnia del Cioccolato" is the main italian chocolate consumers’ association. De Bondt came in first place in 'dark chocolate' category with its "70% dark chocolate bar" and in 'aromatic and spiced' with "Spices and citrus fruits dark chocolate bar". Great performance was achieved by de Bondt in 'milk chocolate' category with two bars, in 'soft chocolate' and in 'hot chocolate' categories. In 'aromatic and spiced' category de Bondt's products were the most representative with 10 out of 18 bars in the grand final.
"Compagnia del Cioccolato" awarded de Bondt’s company with "best chocolate maker" prize for 2009, confirming the quality of de Bondt’s work since 1993 and the value of many other prizes won in ten years of "Compagnia del Cioccolato"'s life.
"Academy of Chocolate" awards must not be considered less important than "Compagnia del Cioccolato"’s awards, since the british organization compares many european and rest of the world chocolate makers. De Bondt was awarded two bronze medals in 'best ganache filled chocolate' for its lemon ganache praline and in 'best filled praline' for its hazelnut praline.
